Outdoors in Mammoth -
Environemental Festival - 2008
Join
us for the premier of “Outdoors
in Mammoth” a family-centered
environmental festival featuring Jean-Michel Cousteau. Our summer event
is an opportunity to celebrat Mammoth’s unique place in the mountains
by raising awareness through communication, education and action.
The
two-day event, themed “Summit
to the Seas – Everything
is Connected” will be a fun and interactive opportunity for families
to explore the mountains and discover the role they each can play in
building a responsible tomorrow.
The festival includes 5 different field trips for the entire family. You
will adventure out into the Mammoth backcountry and explore the environment,
see how the native people to made it their home, learn about
the Sierra and water, learn about renewable energy among other outdoor
adventures. At the cocktail party you will get time with Jean Michel
Cousteau and he will also speak at the dinner.
Festival
is run in partnership with the Mammoth Community Foundation. All proceeds
will benefit Friends of the Inyo.
