The Snow Spy - The storm has hit! Everyone is happy, especially those who want to get out before the Martin Luther Weekend rush to the slopes. Snow Spy went to investigate and the early January storms brought 3-5 feet at lower elevations and 4-6 feet at higher elevations with more coming. The weather is cold, light gusts of wind, but conditions everywhere are good. You've been waiting a long time for the corduroy and groomers and now you have it.

Take your lunch break at Diamond Peak and get some skiing in! $20 gets you a lift ticket valid from 11 am – 1 pm, Monday – Friday, non-holiday and a $10 food voucher. Ski or snowboard on your lunch break then pick up lunch. It'll make your work day go by much faster!

Celebrate National Winter Trails Day with the Tahoe Rim Trail Association Saturday, January 12. Snowshoe treks with winter safety talks and demonstrations take place at the Tahoe Meadows trailhead from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit www.tahoerimtrail.org for further information.

      Bashful just got a full rebuild that includes: 2 flat boxes, dual C boxes, flat down flat rail, 3 sweet jumps and 1 sweet hip.

      The Alley received a transformation as well, with an elevator box, 4 jumps, 1 hip angled box, up box, down rail, and roller coaster box.

      Smokey is getting its makeover tomorrow and the Burton Progression Park offers the same fun-to-learn-on features as usual

      Sledding and Tubing

      Get Tubular at Sierra-at-Tahoe

      Heavenly's high-altitude Adventure Peak located at the top of the Gondola at Heavenly. The first part of the adventure is simply getting there! The 2.4-mile ride up the mountainside in the Gondola is one trip you'll never forget. The second part of the adventure is the park itself, complete with restaurant, snowbike rentals and more! There's plenty of fun-filled opportunities for children of all ages at Heavenly's Adventure Peak.

      Adventure Mountain Lake Tahoe The "old" Echo Summit Ski Area. Adventure Mountain offers groomed sledding hills and snow play areas, groomed sledding runs for children and adults, plowed parking, and marked trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

      Ice Skating

      Heavenly Village opens its lighted, outdoor ice-skating rink for families to enjoy the crisp Tahoe evening while skating and soaking in the mountain village ambience.

      South Tahoe Ice Skating Arena Next door to the recreation complex is the full-service NHL size Ice Skating Arena offering daily ice skating, lessons, hockey camps, café, video arcade, party rooms and quality skate rentals, Pro Shop with disc golf disc sales and the friendliest staff in Tahoe.

      Sleigh Rides

      Borges Family Sleigh Rides Old fashioned sleigh rides in antique European Sleighs. Be sure to bring your camera, a Borges storyteller will snap a photo of you and your companions on the sleigh with breathtaking Lake Tahoe in the background. During the exciting ride, your sleigh driver will also point out local landmarks.

      Dog Sledding

      Join 30-year veteran musher, Dotty Dennis, and her husky dogs for an exciting and memorable winter adventure on Husky Express . The sled rides last about an hour, set in the wilderness of Hope Valley, 30 minutes south of South Lake Tahoe.

      Running Creek Sled Dog Rides gives a 40 minute ride of pure bliss, which circles around Kirkwood Meadows daily with full moon tours available monthly.
