Early Summer Events
LAKE TAHOE *MAMMOTH * BIG BEAR * PALM SPRINGS
May 2009

For most snow is almost gone, the flowers are popping out... and spring is on its way. Most that is except for Mammoth who is still going strong with skiing, albeit in Southern California the temperatures are averaging in the 70's. Big Bear and Lake Tahoe are getting set for summer... and Palm Springs... well its golf as usual.

MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN
Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort

Mammoth is still going strong. It is hard to believe with the Los Angeles high winds, warm weather and sunshine, that spring skiing lives on. The main lodge is in operation. The very tan skiers are reporting that the conditions are good, but hard packed in the early morning. Very typical of spring skiing, but still worth the drive from Southern California. Day time temperatures are in the 50's so sunscreen is mandatory! Mammoth Mountain will be open until May 31, 2009. Memorial day is the weekend before May 22 - 25, so if you're planning on one last fling, this would be the weekend to do it.
