January 2008

Weather, Weather, Weather that is the news. If you haven't heard about our 5-7 foot snow fall the first week of January, then you must not have been in California. Snow is everywhere, and at this writing in Mammoth and in Lake Tahoe snow continues to fall. In Mammoth, it was falling about 6" per hour during the heavier times and the wind is relatively calm, except for an occasional gust. In Lake Tahoe, all the lifts at all ski resorts are operating, and this is the best conditions have been in over 2 years. This makes the opening of Heavenly Valley's new high speed "Olympic Express" particularly eventful. Course, battling it out is the new "Cloud Nine Express" at Mammoth which also goes up to the top. More snow is expected to fall starting 1/8/2008 but clear by the weekend 1/11/2008. Plan a bullet run to the resorts for great skiing.

Martin Luther King Weekend -January 18-21, 2008 - This is a 3 day weekend with the Monday falling on 1/21/2007. Plan your trips to revolve around this holiday and it won't cost you a "vacation day" at work.

Presidents Holiday Weekend - Starting February 14 - 18, 2008. This is a 4 day weekend that this year starts on Valentines Day. What a great way to spend 4 lovely days in the mountains with your honey! Presidents is especially busy at all resorts so don't delay in booking your lodging for the best choices.
