Unbelievable... Mammoth Ski Resort opened 10 days early. The California rain storms dumped 18+ inches of snow and the main lodge is open for skiing. Broadway chair lift is running with more lifts opening as they prepare the slopes for an early season start. The top to bottom run opens as of November 7.

Join us to celebrate the 2008/09 season with the Annual Champagne Toast at 11am on the Main Lodge sundeck and starting at 11:30am, enjoy live music by "Justin James"! At 2:30pm we will be serving cookies on the sundeck and after the lifts close, head down to the Village where the action continues for the Red Bull Film Premiere: That's It, That's All!
Masters Race Camp & Rokka Week , LA Council Raace Week

Every year, the Mammoth Race Department in conjunction with the local ski clubs offer "Race Camp" for serious skiers where you can refine your racing skills. Giant Slalom and slalom drills, progressions and gate training, including video analysis and timed training runs. 4 hours daily.S taff consists of coaches from the Mammoth Masters Team and the Mammoth Mountain Ski Team Coaching cost for the week is $ 450
Rokka Week is a similar week but geared for a wider range group from Novice - first time racers to advanced. You get the gates, videos, critiques and of course all the racers. It is a lot of fun, and a nice change from just regular freestyle skiing. Scott Peer of Westwood Ski Club is a big organzier. And LA Council Week overlaps and starts December 12.

Terrain Parks, Family Friendly skiing and No Crowds....that's is June Mountain. Every year June develops more terrain for snowboarders, and better operations for skiers making it a good mixed use mountain. June is low key and rarely crowded, and your Mammoth ticket and season pass are good at both. June is about 35 minutes north of Mammoth so you can ski and ride at both on the same day.

Back by popuar demand the Night of Lights is music and fireworks set over the slopes. This is unbelievably beautiful, as skiers come down at night holding roman candles. The chair lifts get lit up with flares and the Mammoth resort blast 1000's of fireworks in the sky. Bring warm clothes, hot chocolate and "adult beverages" for a real good time.

Traditionally, all the North and South Lake Tahoe resorts open the same weekend. This year it is November 21, 2008. Heavenly Valley is reporting to be making snow in anticipation of continued cold weather and the opening day which is just about 2 weeks away. A good dump of snow could mean early opening as well.

Learn to ski or ride for only $25 opening weekend at Diamond Peak! The North Lake Tahoe Resort Association is sponsoring Learn to Ski & Ride Days at Diamond Peak on December 13th & 14th. First timers can get a ticket, a lesson, and rentals for only $25.
Diamond Peak is a great place to learn with its wide, easy to navigate slopes and top-of-the-line ski and snowboard instructors. Diamond Peak lacks the crowds and has beautiful lake views from almost every run. It’s the perfect mountain for families and beginners and there is a variety of ski and snowboard packages for all ages and abilities.
The first-time beginner package usually costs $81 for a 1 hr 45 min lesson, rental equipment and a lift ticket but during Learn to Ski & Ride Days get all of this for only $25. Save over $50 during opening weekend!

Borel has received over a foot of snow and the mountain is ready for you to shred. Lift tickets will be availble for a discounted rate of $30 for adults and $15 for children ages 5-12. Come ride the new Castle Peak Quad accessing Boreal's mid-mountain. Also find a full park line with 12 features and plenty of corduroy for those itching to ski/ride the groomers. Lifts open 9am- 4pm. In memory of local snowboarder, Charles “Coogan” Kelly, SnowBomb will present large cash purse to top riders of the day and donate all competitor registration fees to the Coogan Kelly Memorial Foundation.
