It's hard to believe that there is only 4 weeks left before school starts getting out for summer vacation. It does seem like the holidays were just here. Summer officially kicks off in North Lake Tahoe Memorial Day Weekend with the 4th Annual Opening Day at the Lake. This four-day special event is Friday, May 27 to Monday, May 30, and is comprised of celebrations and festivities along the West Shore and in downtown Tahoe City.
Celebrity Golf - 22nd Annual American Century Championship with Celebrities Michael Jordan, Ray Romano, Don Cheadle and more for a $600,000 purse.
Tuesday, July 12, 2011 - Sunday, July 17, 2011 Harvey's Summer Concert Series with Lionel Ritchie, Lady Antebellum starting June 18 and there is still skiing in Squaw Valley until May 30 for die hards who want more!

Booming with events, Mammoth has already got the first of many fishing derbies going with the Convict Lake Round Up at the Lake now through June 1 with $6000 in prizes. Mule Days in Bishop is the most fun rodeo and is every Memorial Day weekend, with rides, rodeo shows and a parade. MotoCross in June is the biggest amateur motocross event fun for spectators and riders. Blue Sky Festival and Jazz Jubilee in July, Bluesapalooza in August and the list keeps growing. The 4th of July celebration is always a big deal and of course, the absolute best fishing in the Eastern Sierra.

Big Bear may be small and rustic but the events are not. June 11-12 is the Fishing for $50,000 Fishing Tournament and Derby. The Big Bear Jazz Trax Summer music festival is June 24-26 at the Marina Resort Lake Side. 4th of July is always a big deal in Big Bear and a perfect time to buzz away from LA to the mountains. The Twilight Music Festival is end of July and features top name bands and musicians set beneath the mountain air. October is always Oktoberfest month and it starts in September! Plan on coming up this summer. |
