Amgen Tour of California Friday May 21 - Sunday May 23, 2010
Big Bear has some exciting news for sports fans, cycling enthusiast or anyone who wants to be part of the action.

The 2010 Amgen Tour of California will finish its Stage 6 in Big Bear Lake at Snow Summit on Friday, May 21. Map of Route The Amgen Tour of California is the largest cycling event in America, which ranks up there with the likes of Tour de France. This race starts in Pasadena and goes 132 miles to Big Bear... up our giant hill. This race features world-class cyclists such as Lance Armstrong, Levi Lepheimer and George Hincapie just to name a few. The cycling race is the highest watched spectator sport in America, bar none. Be part of history, right here in Big Bear Lake As this will be a sold out event, you should book your lodging early. Big Bear Lodging, Cabins, Hotels and Rentals.

Be sure to bring your bike along so you can take part in Tour de Big Bear. On May 22, the following day after Amgen Tour of California, cyclists of all ages and skill levels will have the opportunity to ride portions of the same route professional cyclists raced on the day before of the inaugural "Tour De Big Bear . Whether you're novice, intermediate or expert there are multiple high-elevation ride options, for both road and mountain bike rides in and around Big Bear Valley. Routes vary from family-friendly rides of 10 miles or less to longer epic rides for more advanced cyclists of 50 miles or more. Each participant will receive a detailed map, which includes turn by turn directions, a topography profile of elevation gains and distance of each route. Memorial Day - May 28 - 31, 2010 Lots to do for a family getaway. The Big Bear golf course will open on May 21 so it will be in prime shape for Memorial Day weekend. If you have never played golf at altitude... the ball flies farther!. The scenic sky chair will also be open at Snow Summit. This is a 3 day weekend filled with hiking, biking, golf and some R & R with the family. Fresh air... No traffic... come get some.

50K Catch Big Cash In Big Bear - June 5, 6, 2010
Time to get out your poles and go fishing in Big Bear. This tournament offers a $50,000 prize if you catch one of the tagged rainbow trouts. Sponsored by Berkeley Power Bait, there are prizes for biggest fish for males, females and caught by kids.
